RAW House Show
Fort Wayne, IN

The RAW roster was just there in August, and I couldn’t believe they were coming back so soon. Last time, I made Molly a sign that said, “I love you Molly, will you go out with me?” She saw it on her way to the ring, and on the way back she held the Women’s Title up at me, smiled, and said, “I’m the champion!” (In other words, no.) This time I thought I’d try something else.

I waited outside the arena before the show, hoping she would come over and talk to the fans. It turned out to be freezing that day, and I can’t emphasize that enough. I was sure that everybody that came wouldn’t stay outside for more than two seconds. Jazz and Molly came together, and Jazz went right inside. (I don’t blame her.) But Molly came over and signed for everybody. Poor Molly had only a light jacket and no gloves on, but she took the time to sign autographs, answer questions, and take pictures. She was shivering the whole time, but she managed to keep her smile for every picture and didn’t try to rush anyone at all. She also had on John Cena’s word life shirt and a blue bandana to cover her shaved head. She should wear bandanas on TV, because she looked amazing. I wish I’d suggested it to her.

I was the only one there with a Molly sign, and I had two of them. I showed her the first one, which said, “Molly will always be the most beautiful diva” and she said, “That’s what I like!” She wrote “To James, thank you!” and her name on the back of my sign and shook my hand as well. My other sign said, “I shaved my head to support Molly.” I took off my hat to prove it, and she really liked that too. On that one, she signed her name and wrote WWE 04, so I got two different autographs. Someone else asked her how she liked her new hair and she said it was good. She’s not upset about the angle at all, so I don’t think any of us should be either. She said she does whatever they tell her to do and she was smiling when she said it, so I guess she’s having fun with it. Before she went inside, I just had to try it, so I said, “Will you go out with me?” Of all the things she could have said to that, she smiled again and said, “Unfortunately, I don’t live in Indiana, and long-distance relationships never work.” (That is so not a rejection!)

Not only had Molly made my day (more like life), she also probably saved it by being the first wrestler to arrive. As soon as she went in, the other wrestlers started showing up, but I was already heading inside because I had been out there in the cold forever. The next part I was looking forward to was Molly’s match. She had a Triple Threat against Jazz and Victoria. She came out with a brown wig that looked a lot like her real hair from when she champion the first time back in 2002. On her way to the ring, I held up the most beautiful diva sign, and she broke character as she walked by and said, “Thank you, James.” (House shows are awesome!) Man, the whole place hated her (and me) and they were yelling, “Rip her wig off!” This angle is really over, and I realize now that it was the best thing for Molly’s career. The wig came off when Victoria did a slingshot on Molly into the corner. Molly was looking for the wig, and Victoria pinned her. She actually got the wig back though, and was putting it on backwards as she ran back down the aisle. Back in August, I watched the whole show, and when I went outside to wait for Molly, she was long gone. This time I decided to sacrifice the rest of the show and see if I could talk to her again before she left.

Unfortunately, this time all the wrestlers waited until the end of the show to leave, so I froze myself again and missed the second half of the show for no reason. But it didn’t matter, because Molly and Jazz eventually did come back out. They got in their car to leave, so I figured I would just watch them drive away. Ah, but the traffic was slow and they had to wait before they could make their turn. I had to think hard about doing this next part, because I thought I might be crossing the line of wrestler/fan interaction, but I don’t exactly get to see Molly every day. So shedding any dignity I might have had left, I ran down the sidewalk and tried to get her attention. They were across the street, but Molly wasn’t driving, so I called her name. She rolled down the window and said, “Thank you again for the signs, James.” The traffic moved, but they still had to wait for another green light. I had one last idea. I walked calmly up to where she could see me again, and I took my hat off to remind her of my shaved head. She rolled down the window again, smiled, and said “I think the shaved head looks better on you!” I said thanks, but I know I could never look better than Molly in any way. At this point, Molly had far exceeded any expectations I had for the show, and I watched them drive away. It was weird, but very cool to watch Jazz and Molly drive down the same road that I have to drive down every day to get to school.
